I’ll repeat — there is no porn genre in literature. It does NOT exist. There is erotica but not porn as a genre you could use to list your book anywhere.

Also, I made it very clear in the description of the book that readers can expect raw erotica. That’s not porn, but it’s wild and raw and liberated and uninhibited sexuality.

Porn is often ugly because the actors do it for money and with no real passion. In contrast, the protagonists of my stories do it out of passion and not for the money.

The problem with book review services is that the so-called reviewers use them to get books for free. They then download something without caring to read the description and then trash it — not because it was really bad but because it didn’t fit their highly subjective personal taste or moral stance.

The thing is, we don’t ever buy things that don’t fit our taste and thus we also don’t trash them in reviews — we just don’t buy them.

But when people grab things for free and then feel entitled to trash them whether the book deserves that or not, we have a problem. The rating is not there to rate whether that’s your kind of style. If it’s not your style, move on.

Now tell me what kind of a book deserves 1-star?! How horrendously bad it would have to be! If my writing indeed sucked that horribly much, I would have never become a top writer on Medium. The only reason some people gave my book 1-star was not because it was truly bad but because they personally didn’t like the style and these are two very different things.
